PPT Trick #02: Editing Pictures – Removing White Backgrounds

Editing a picture in MS PowerPoint 2007

( Removing white backgrounds )

Usually, most of the black and white pictures you find in the Internet have white backgrounds.

Here I would like to share with some tips I use to get rid of that background using MS PowerPoint. This is for those who don’t have advanced photo editing programmes and don’t have the time to  learn a new one.

01. Import your picture to MS PowerPoint. (Shortcut: Alt,i,p,f – clicked one after another)

02. Double click on the picture to display the picture tools at the top.

03. From the Recolor menu, at you left hand, choose the Set Transparent Color tool. Click on any place of white color.

The hat would turn into transparent.

04. Go the Insert menu and choose the Curve Line.

05. Draw along the edges of your picture till you close the curve.

06. With the newly drawn shape selected, right click and choose Send to Backà Send Background

07. Again, with the sent back shape is still selected, press shift + click on the original transparent picture. Then group them.

08. Now to save the picture, right click on the picture and choose Save as a picture…

09. Choose the format you prefer, and that is it.
